Bridging Ideas and Intelligence

We think AI’s best use is giving people time back — less friction, less screen time. More room for the creative and strategic work that humans do best. We’re grounded in open-source principles, a high human touchpoint, and a focus on building things that are efficient, ethical, and genuinely useful. We care about data sovereignty, security, and making sure the tools we build put you in control.

From the Founder

The challenges facing organisations in 2026 have a lot in common with the journey I've been on. LLMs have created a direct connection between what people already know and a powerful new set of digital capabilities - and working out how to make that connection productive is what I spend my days doing.

My background is in fields where understanding complexity matters: law, policy, education. That gave me something I rely on constantly now - the ability to break a problem down, understand what's actually going on, and figure out what needs to happen next. But it was the shift to building that changed everything for me.

Getting real value from that foundation meant learning to think differently - in systems, in workflows, in deliberate choices about tools and architecture - while keeping up with a technology landscape that moves almost weekly. I genuinely enjoy that work. It's the part most people shouldn't have to do themselves.

That's the position a lot of organisations are in right now. The opportunity is real: your knowledge, your judgement, your way of operating can be embedded directly into tools and systems that do meaningful work. But the gap between something that technically runs and something that actually creates leverage comes down to what's underneath - how it's designed, structured, and maintained.

I've put in the hours across the tools, the frameworks, and the implementation detail so that you don't have to start from zero. The goal is straightforward: build the right foundations together, so what we create works now and keeps working as things evolve.

Our Latest Project

Fridai's most recent project has been a partnership with Global Research — a specialist research consultancy — to design and build an AI-powered analysis tool for public consultation projects. The tool processes large volumes of public submissions through a multi-stage pipeline that handles sentiment analysis, theme identification, and structured synthesis, giving analysts a clear, navigable picture of what people are actually saying. The entire system can be run on self-hosted, open-weight models hosted on New Zealand infrastructure, with a secure dashboard for exploring results — an approach shaped by the data sovereignty and security requirements that come with working at the government level. It's the kind of work Fridai was built for: real problems, meaningful use cases, and technical decisions that have to hold up to serious scrutiny. You can read the full case study on the blog
